       It's a story that I got from my mom about the habits of society in the past Jogjakarta. In those days, Jogja was still sparsely populated and the traffic was not crowded. Most people used bicycles for transportation. From the data which I got, the year 1953 in Jogjakarta each day passed 60 thousand bikes. So appropriate that this city dubbed the city bike at that time. Not a few of the people who traveled with just a walked through the streets in the township. Of course the situation was still cool because there were many trees and not as hot as it is today.


       Many houses that provide drinking water in front of their homes,  intended to gave drink to the thirsty pedestrians in his way.
Pedestrians took drinking water from the jars made ​​of pottery, called "Genthong". Dipper made ​​of coconut shell with  handle made from bamboo, called "Siwur". They drank and sometimes also watered into the head to cool the body temperature. After resting for a moment, then they moved on.


       This tradition began to disappear in the early seventies. Times indeed have changed, but the lesson from the parents earlier about the sense of caring for others, must still we preserve. One of the most beautiful legacy for our grandchildren is a sense of  care for one another.
